Hello! Since I received positive feedback on my last review of Ramada Hotel, I thought I’d write another review, but this time write it about two of my favorite subjects; food and history. If you know me well, you’ll know that I like to experience and comment upon those particular subjects. What could be a better way to share that hobby with you than to review a local landmark and a restaurant? While I was traveling with my family and a close friend we were able to explore many different towns, stores, landmarks, and restaurants. Of the many things we did going to Lewes in Delaware was honestly my least favorite. Basically, we stared at some random house that had a cannonball stuck in one of its walls or something unimportant like that. For those who know me, that statement might sound a bit out of character for me because I normally am interested in history, so let me explain a bit further. I am normally open to learning about history when the subject interests me. For example, I’d much rather learn about an ancient civilization than a cannonball stuck in the wall of a house. If you're going to Lewes in Delaware with a child who is not a history geek, I do not recommend going to the Cannonball House. If you do, the child will be bored out of their mind. Now, on to the restaurant. This particular restaurant that I will be reviewing is called Jerry’s Seafood. First of all, my family, friend and I felt like the woman who greeted us didn't care for people in wheelchairs or she was just grumpy towards everyone because she treated us like she didn't want us there . My food took forever to get. While I was waiting for my food, I had to use the restroom. The hallway leading to the supposedly “handicap accessible” bathroom was full of stuff making us have to move all of it in order to get to the bathroom. When we got to the door of the bathroom, there was a padlock. My question is: Why would you have a padlock on the door of a bathroom in a public place? That doesn't make any sense. When we eventually received our food, it was very good. We had lava cakes for dessert. They were very good as well. If you are looking for somewhere in Lewes, Delaware I recommend going somewhere else. If you have lots of time and patients Jerry’s Seafood is not the worst place you could go for a meal. If you are under time pressure and\or have a disability that requires that places you go are accessible, don’t go to Jerry’s Seafood. I’m sure there are plenty of other wonderful restaurants in Lewes, Delaware.
Very interesting review! If people don’t make you feel comfortable and welcome— there is no food that can make up for that type of mediocre service! Thanks
